Exploration of the Senses

Touch, smell, and feel, 3 of the 5 dove into today in the Walnut room. Children discovered how to use there various senses while manipulating various materials. The Walnut room gained a few new mediums and tools, set to capture the children's' interests. Children learned how to work a microscope and what could be seen by using one. Smelling jars with different scents were also added to the room. Children's noses were put to the test as they tried to guess the scent. Touch too, was explored as children guessed the objects in the mystery box. An exploration of their senses allowed children to probe and discuss their various findings.

"I see germs their little and tiny."
"It looks like pink blood."

"I feel a pine cone."

"This is a jump hopper."
"Wait, somethings happening."

"It's cinnamon!"
"That's a candy cane."

We got 3 out of the 5 senses, see what you can do with the other 2!
